For some reason, every time I try to batch import, I get a message "The batch import has been canceled." Any idea on why this might be? I'm trying to import jpegs. I can import them individually, but I have several hundred to import and that will be very time consuming.

How far into the batch import does it get before it's canceled? It may be due to problems accessing certain files. Have you tried using a folder to cut down on the number of files imported at once so you can isolate the problematic files? Did you leave the box checked for searching sub-directories?
