Today, the Brussels Philharmonic started using tablets to show their sheetmusic. Together with Samsung they set up a project for digital sheetmusicmanagement. One of the musicians in the orchestra develloped an app which they're using now.

It's called neoScore; a "device independant"app ( http://www2.neoscores.com/home)

Anyone know more about this? Will this be the first real competition for MobileSheets on the Android-platform?

Looking forward to your opinion on this.

That's actually quite fascinating. Thanks for posting that. I'm curious how their business model will support continued development. I also read this http://techinmusiced.wordpress.com/ which talks about how the event was staged, and neoScores was only using MusicXML, as PDF is not ready yet. There are also a ton of licensing issues with MusicXML, and the app would require you to be connected to the internet at all times. I tried loading neoScores on my tablet, and since it relies heavily on HTML5 technologies, it didn't even load...

Looks like it still has a ways to go, but it's a really cool concept. Looks like I need to work that much harder to continue providing features that can't be beat on Android Smile
