I've been having this issue since moving to a Windows tablet - because Windows has gestures built-in for minimizing/closing/etc of apps, if I need to crop a page down on the left side, I inevitably end up repeatedly minimizing or closing my app instead of cropping the page. Can a small void be added around the page in the cropping interface to help this?

Sure, I can add some padding around the edges. As an alternative, you could disable the edge swipes: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/4850...-10-a.html
