I have a new tablet and my first will serve as a back up tablet. Do I need to buy an additional copy of MSP? I'm guessing if I do, there is nothing special needed to install the backup data on the new tablet. But if there is, please let me know. Thanks for all your help! 

No need to purchase another MSP.

As long as they are both Android, just log in to Google Play with the same account you used to make the initial purchase and you will be able to download and install the app without having to pay again.
