It would be really useful to have a notes section which can be brought up in the song viewer where notes can be added to a particular song (e.g. practice, performance or rehearsal notes).

Feature is already there.

Display the song you want and tap the little clipboard icon (top left) and it will open the note editor.  There are options for when you want the notes displayed, personally, I have them automatically opened when I go to that chart and dismiss with a touch.

You could also use an Annotation Group to store notes on the title page or relevant section.
