It frequently happens that cropping of PDF pages seem to work in the first moment but using it afterwards, strange appearences occur. It seems that only one cropping frame will be applied to all the pages of the complete PDF document so making it useless or definitely destroy readability. All the Pages use the same size, resolution etc.

If I'm understanding the problem correctly, in the cropping editor, tap "Settings" then change "Crop" to "Current page only". Then you can assign cropping individually for each page.
