Shared/Exported song no longer includes annotations
Posted by: SteveB - 02-08-2024, 08:33 AM - Forum: MobileSheets (Android) - Replies (9)

In the past I have marked up a song and then used the "share" utility to email a copy of the song with all my annotations to my stand mate so we could agree on some style issues.

Today I tried it and the annotations are not included in the exported .pdf file.

My steps:

1) Mark up a song.
2) Long press the song and click "Share" in the upper right hand corner of the screen
3) Click "Share Files" then Gmail.
4) I have confirmed that "Share with annotations" is checked on the "File Sharing Options" dialog.

A .pdf is created, but my annotations are not included.

I also tried exporting to a local file, with the same results.

This was a really handy feature, I hope the fix is simple (and I hope that I haven't missed something obvious...)

Thanks,

-Steve

  possible to keep audio busy?
Posted by: hardy - 02-06-2024, 10:43 PM - Forum: MobileSheets (Android) - Replies (1)

Hi,

this is no MS issue:
The X200 seems to "disconnect" the audio jack.
There is a hum noise that disappears as soon something is played.
The noise starts again a few seconds after playback finishes.
No showstopper, I just wanted to avoid a bluetooth connection for audio in parallel to USB MIDI

My question:
Is it possible for MS to keep audio busy? Maybe a kind of "unhearable signal" similar to Kodi?

tia, kind regards

  Library organization

Hi!

I am slowly getting back into using this software again while restarting my freelance career. I used to have a master tablet where I managed the folders myself, then I had a live folder sync setup (third party) between those local folders and my main library already excisting in Google Drive, which I often used as the sync/import folder on other devices if the master was not available. This way I had my own live two-way folder hierarchy sync. MS adopted metadata from the local files based on a number of folder hierarchy criteria depending on type of content, and if I added a new piece in either local or Google Drive version, the file was immediately duplicated in the other, while still having local offline libraries for the performances on each device (those used the MS library sync or import from Google Drive as long as settings was same as on master). While I had this working a few years ago, the master tablet drowned and I lost app settings and the advanced syntaxes because I was not aware they were app bound locally.

So, before I do any more work in the direction of restoring this workflow, I'd like to ask whether there is an easier way to achieve the same result (with the same criteria, i.e. live sync of the actual folder hierarchy that I want to keep in place in Google Drive (or elsewhere depending on the future validation issues you have upcoming with Google). I believe maintaining a folder hierarchy in a cloud service is mandatory for me so that the library is future proof without depending on metadata, and being able to control the MS library live by manipulating the cloud folders, and furthermore with as few actions as possible required to do any syncing in MS. This is partly because of the way I receive files from some of my employers, making file management on the fly in Google Drive very convenient.

  Multiple csv file selectin
Posted by: Frank Cox - 02-05-2024, 07:42 AM - Forum: MobileSheets (Android) - Replies (1)

When importing a csv file the selection box that comes up allows you to select multiple files in a single directory, but when you select multiple files and process them only the top selection is actually used.

You should probably either allow only one selection (using the round checkboxes instead of the square ones) or add code to process multiple csv files in one shot.  The first option is probably easier.

  Transferring files between categories
Posted by: bazza - 02-02-2024, 03:52 AM - Forum: MobileSheets (Android) - Replies (1)

Following responses to an earlier thread about the use of the 'Setlists' tab, it's clear that, as a folkie, I use the term 'sets' in an atypical way (i.e., as tunes linked in twos or threes - not as a programme for a performance).  I'd like to recategorize my collection of such 'mini-sets' under a different heading, using one of the 'Custom' options - calling them, say, 'Medleys'.

Part 1: Can I move all of them collectively (about 750 mini-sets) in one go from the current 'Setlists' tab to a new 'Medleys' tab?  It would be tedious to have to do so one by one.

Part 2: If I can do so, will the renamed 'Custom' category give me the full range of sorting options, inc. 'Date created' and 'Shuffle'?

Advice welcome.

Potential loss of Google Drive access
Posted by: Zubersoft - 02-01-2024, 08:52 AM - Forum: News - Replies (15)

I want to give users a heads up (and hear feedback) about a potential change that is coming. Google has changed their policies for access to Google Drive, and now requires any app that wants to be able to access a user's files and folders to go through an extensive verification and auditing process. I have started this very time consuming process (which has to be done annually), but some of the requirements are quite ridiculous (such as needing to have code in place to anti-virus scan any file that will be uploaded), so I'm not sure I will be able to complete the process. This means that I will no longer be able to access any Google Drive folder outside of one that is automatically generated just for MobileSheets, rendering the Google Drive integration mostly worthless except for library synchronization. Users will still be able to use Import->System File Browser on Android and iOS to import through the OS file picker, but batch importing will no longer be an option, as I don't believe Google's or Apple's file picker will work for that. The Windows version would have no option for importing through Google Drive, as there is no equivalent OS file picker.

If I'm unable to complete the verification and get approval, I will work on adding some other cloud service options that users have asked for, such as ownCloud, pCloud, Box, etc. I will try to have these added around the same time that Google Drive is taken away, which would be around mid-March.

While I am not happy about losing Google Drive access, I don't really have much say in the matter. I would like to hear from users their thoughts on this, and whether they would be fine switching to a different cloud service if they are currently using Google Drive.

Thanks,
Mike

Is there a way to restore the backup from the tablet that was stored on the SD card w
Posted by: JerryJacobs - 01-31-2024, 06:10 PM - Forum: MobileSheets (Android) - Replies (1)

The performance of my old tablet is unreliable. When I attempted to restore a backup onto a newer tablet, I noticed that some files were missing when the original memory card was not inserted. However, I have ample storage capacity on the newer tablet. Is there a way to restore the backup from the tablet that was stored on the SD card without actually using the SD card? If possible, I would prefer an alternative method.

USER ERROR DETECTED - E-Ink highlight goes black in setlist entry renumber
Posted by: Lawrie - 01-31-2024, 11:15 AM - Forum: MobileSheets (Android) - Replies (3)

Hey Mike,
I've noticed that if I tap the number beside a song in a setlist so I can change the order that the field goes black, obscuring the existing number.  Once I start typing the highlight goes away (as you would expect) and the numerals are visible again.

It appears similar to the issue I reported here:
https://www.zubersoft.com/mobilesheets/f...10903.html

I wonder if this may be an artefact from the firmware update done to my Onyx Boox TabX a little while back...

It's been happening for a while but I delayed reporting it in the hope that Onyx would fix their firmware for other issues* that have been reported, but they seem to be taking their time...

* Specifically the "arrowhead" problem we've discussed previously.
