On my Max Lumi I found something which is not working correctly. If I change to annotation mode and choose the crescendo (or decrescendo) tool to draw a crescendo, only the stroke path (as with the pen tool) is drawn on the Eink screen. It only seems to be a visual thing with the boox drawing library, because in fact, the crescendo sign is created and shows up when the annotation mode is closed.
I wanted to create a video showing this behavior, but on the video everything is drawn correctly. So it really seems to be a thing with how boox handles pen strokes. @Mike: Maybe you can have a look at this with your boox devices?

FWIW, my TAB-X behaves as you would expect, IE, it does not exhibit the behaviour your Max Lumi does.

That's odd because the raw drawing mode is only enabled with the pen tool. With the crescendo tool, it will have the slower screen redrawing, but the application should be identically to how it would on a normal Android device. I'll certainly take a look at it to see if I can reproduce it though.

I tested this out and I can't reproduce it on my BOOX Max Lumi. The crescendo tool seems to work perfectly fine for me.

I can confirm this is happening on my TabX too.

What happened there is the raw drawing mode wasn't disabled when you switched from the pen tool to the crescendo tool (the raw drawing mode disabled the screen refresh and just flips pixels to black where the stylus is touching the screen). That is incredibly strange and I'll have to investigate it further. Switching to another tool like the stamp tool then back to crescendo is a workaround for that.

Thanks for looking into it. I found another workaroud. If I put the (de)crescendo tool into the favorites and use them from there, the change from raw mode to normal and back works as expected. Maybe this observation helps you?

Thanks for tracking the issue down. I found the source of the problem and it's fixed for the next update now.

Thanks for the fix. Today I received version 3.9.4 which fixed this.
I do not know if it has something to do with the fix, but what I am missing now is the box around the selected item. I cannot see anymore which icon is selected. As far as the function is concerned, this is not a problem. Everything works as expected, only the visual selection is missing.

I was trying to resolve a display issue on the older e-ink devices, so I must have introduced a bug with that. I'm going to revert whatever changes I happened to make in regards to that.
Thanks,
Mike
