Hi Mike,
quite often when using the stamp tool I will carefully place the stamp but when I lift the stylus the stamp will often shift from the position I selected. Usually upwards and to left. I'm pretty sure I've seen others mention this happening and IIRC it was something to do with the resolution...
Anyhow, when it happens I then have to use the selection tool so I can nudge the stamp back to where I want it.
Would it be possible to to have the nudge tool automatically opened when placing stamps so we don't need to swap between selection and stamp tools?
<edit> It might also be useful to have it appear with the text tool too. </edit>
<further edit> Oops, it already does with the text tool </further edit>

The only time that would happen is if you have the page scaling set to "Fullscreen". You should never see it shift otherwise.
As far as your question, no, that's not really possible, because the nudge tool only operates on what has been selected, and a stamp is not automatically selected just by you creating it. I don't support a selection state with most tools, as it would interfere with other parts of the logic in the code. I generally only allow things to be selected when using the stamp tool. You can enable the option to automatically select stamps after they are created though, which would then let you immediately nudge them into place if needed. You'd then just need to switch back to the stamp tool to place the next stamp (which you can do with a two finger tap).

Hi Mike,
page scaling is set to "Fit Screen".
Not sure if the following is relevant:
Page alignment is "Top"
Always Show Title Bar is "Off"
Show Caption in the Title Bar is "Off"
Render Preference is "Quality"
Device Orientation Lock is "Off"
Hide the Nav bar is "Off"
Fullscreen Mode is "Off"
Hide Window Decor is "Off"
I'll try to remember to note how aggressively the chart is cropped when it happens and see if that's relevant.
As for the rest of your response, it makes sense the way you explain it. Thanks.

I'm definitely not sure why you are seeing anything jump at all then. It may have something to do with the zoom level. Do you have high-quality zooming enabled? I'm just trying to think through any possibilities...

In the "Apply Zoom/Pan Settings" dialogue, only "Enable pinch zoom gesture" is enabled, the other 3 check boxes are blank.
FWIW I've never used the zoom feature, though I did just test it.
Is there any possibility it has something to do with the tablet itself? I never use it for anything other than MS so obviously I haven't seen it happen in any other app.

I doubt that. Does the problem happen with every stamp you've tested, or only certain stamps? Is this all on your BOOX tablet?

Hi Mike,
I've done some further testing. - It doesn't seem to matter if the pdf is clipped or not, nor how much it is clipped.
- It doesn't happen every time, but it's pretty close (maybe 98%)
- Which stamp doesn't seem to matter.
- It also happens with the highlight tool, but the size of the highlighted area seems relevant - the bigger it is, the greater the offset. (I use the highlighter to blank out unwanted artifacts in some PDFs)
- It doesn't happen with the line tool (at least not that I've been able to detect)
- The text tool is very mildly affected: when I've typed the text and complete the entry by touching the stylus to another part of the screen, the text will bump to the right slightly (maybe just 2 or 3 pixels)
- When using the snipping tool, the selected area will almost always shrink from the outline I drew. E.G. I start at the top left, open out the selection box by dragging down and to the right, lift the stylus and the bottom right corner of the selected area will jump up and to the left. This behaviour is exactly the same as what happens with the highlighter.
- Placing a piano staff seems unaffected.
Yes, this is on my Boox device. That's actually all I have aside from the trial version on my phone which isn't used at all.

Random question - if you use your finger instead of the stylus, does the same issue occur? I have the BOOX Tab X and I don't recall ever seeing things jump, but I'll run through some more tests.
Thanks,
Mike

"Curioser and curioser" said Alice...
I can't annotate at all using my finger. I can enter annotation mode, but attempting to place a stamp etc. results in nothing happening.
I looked through my settings and couldn't find anything that might cause this. Of course I could easily have missed it. Or I'm not doing something correctly.

You have to go into the annotation settings, then uncheck "Stylus Mode" in order to annotate with your finger.

Well, how about that - I knew I must have been missing something...
Finger test results: - Stamps don't move
- highlight stays put too
- snipping tool seems to move about 1 pixel left, but now with no upward movement
- text tool still moves right about 2 or 3 pixels
I've also replied to your email with 4 clips.
Thank you.
