Screen goes blank with a rotating circle in the middle
#1
I have used MobileSheets for more than a year and have had some occurrances of the screen going blank with a white circle in the middle. The circle is rotating. Nothing I try restores the screen and I have to back up and re-select the piece which is nearly impossible in the middle of a performance (I am a church organist and use MobileSheets for the choir music.)

That means that the file could either not be loaded or could not be rendered. If you exit back to the library screen and then load the song when this occurs, does it properly load? Or do you see the same issue? If you force close the app when this occurs and reload it, are you then able to load the song in question? Or does it still fail to load? This will help me understand the nature of what is happening.

Thanks,
Mike

The song appeared and I got half-way through it before it did this. If I exit, reopen the app, and load the same song it does not happen again on that song during that session. Each of the songs is a snippet from a main file of songs. I am using Page-Flip to change pages with a foot pedal which has been flawless. The songs always load but this occurs after the first couple of page turns. I had been through several songs without a problem and then one will just do this. I have not been able to make it happen but needless to say, it is very disruptive. Is there anything else I can provide for you?

Just to verify - is this on an iPad or MacOS device? Are you using only PDF files? I may need you to export that song as a .msf and share that with mike@zubersoft.com so I can test with it to see what is happening.

Thanks,
Mike

This is on a Dell Laptop using Windows 10. I load PDF files and create snippets for each of the pieces in the file. Each snippet is from 5 to 10 pages. I would be happy to share any of the files that you might need. This problem does not always occur on the same snippet and seems to happen after I have opened several snippets (one at a time to play for the choir) and acts like something has been overloaded. I have to close the snippet and re-open it, sometimes more than once. One additional item, it does not happen on the same snippet each time. It appears to be random and happens after several snippets have been opened and closed.

I have a similar problem with Windows 11 and it has happened for quite a while so not just a recent update.  As I only use MS at home it isnt a problem to me as I just go to another song and then back and it normally is ok. A few things to note ...

I change songs by cycling through registrations on the Keyboard (Sysex midi) using the +/- registration bank buttons (Yamaha)

It mostly doesnt render the first page but does render the second page, most of my songs are PDF and displayed in 2 page mode.

Going to another registration and then back normally rectifies the problem.

Maybe my imagination but it seems to do this more often when selecting the previous registration more than the next registration.

It makes no difference if I select render type Speed or Quality

It doesnt seem to be reproducible and is quite random, it might not happen one day but perhaps will the next ?

This is how it affects me and is from memory but I will try and note down when it happens again if different from the above.

This may be difficult for me to reproduce, as I don't recall ever seeing that, but I'll keep an eye out for it while testing.

I understand that it may be difficult to reproduce. I am in MobileSheets quite often and I will try to make this happen. If I am able to make it happen I will get back to you with exactly what I have done to cause the problem.
