Hi,
I'm on a Samsung SM-T350, Android 7.1.1, MS Pro 3.9.11 from Google Play.

I'd like to use ABC files, but they render an empty white screen when imported as an ABC file.

When I rename the file to ***.cho,
... add {start_of_abc} before the ABC code and
   ... {end_of_abc} at the end
-- with no changes to the ABC code itself --
it renders alright.

(just rename the ***.abc.txt back to ***.abc)

I'll appreciate any suggestions.

Mike I've seen on other posts that you're still working on a bunch of ABC issues, maybe changing out some libraries.
If it's easier to put this on hold and try it again when you suggest it's time - - that's fine for me.

Thanks for a terrific application.

Chris

I reported the same .abc file issue to Mike and he identified having a space in the file name as the cause of the issue (empty white screen). He is working on a fix
If you remove the blanks in the file name, the file should render fine.

As Rudy mentioned, it's a bug that I have implemented fixes for. The fix is part of 3.9.12 which has been submitted for Microsoft and Apple. I have not yet pushed out an Android update, as I'm waiting to see if there are any other issues that need to be resolved first.

Sweet! Sorry I missed that in searching the forums.

Thanks to you both - I can certainly get along with no spaces in file names for as long as it takes.
Thanks again for a terrific app.

Whoah!!! :-)

I experienced the same problem with no rendering (but indeed it were all titles with spaces).

I tried one without spaces and it rendered ok. And it did so with the "advanced" features of abc2svg and showed for instance the chord grid from %%grid perfectly. I can't believe it. :-)

That's revolutionary for me to be able to have my transposable and editable lead sheets with chords, melodies lyrics and whatever available as ABC in MS.

I have to explore it all a bit more. I encountered some import errors for some files which don't seem to to be related if it was abc2ps or abc2svg.

But still, what a game changer. Especially for those who want to have their notation app files transposable and editable in MS and can now do it by exporting as MXML and converting it to ABC.

I guess I'll still come up with a few suggestions to make all this more convenient to use (like direct import/convert of MXML with the already available scripts or some buttons/menus for insertion of ABC codes for some standardized editing).

I expect quite a few new interested users for this features especially I/we/you promote it a bit with the new capabilites.

Well done, Mike, and many thanks.

I'm so glad to hear things are working better now with the switch to abc2svg. It was definitely a lot of work, and I can continue to add new features in the editor and such going forward.
