SPAM and nuisance

It seems that the SPAM and nuisance is quickly increasing.
Most forums have a facility to moderate the first post of a new user. Can this forum do this?

I just installed a new custom plugin to require moderation on the first post of a new user.  Thanks for the suggestion.
