For what it's worth, I've been using my Samsung S10 phone and an Asus Zenscreen Touch 15.5" portable monitor. The monitor has it's own battery, and the Samsung phone has DEX mode which turns it into a desktop-like computer when connected to a display. Since the monitor has a touchscreen I just annotate on the screen. The touchscreen isn't quite as sensitive or responsive as a tablet, but it's something you can easily compensate for.
It's relatively inexpensive (definitely cheaper than 2 tablets, and all but the smallest chromebooks), and I go through about 10% battery on both the monitor and the phone in about an hour. As long as I don't plan on playing for 10 hours and I walk into rehearsal on more than 30% charge, I'm gold. |
