For the metronome you can change the used sound and whether or not the first beat is accented. However, it seems that this is stored per song.
Is there any way to set a default setting which will be used of nothing is stored for a song? Alternatively, is there a way to mass edit these settings for all songs at once?

Put all the songs in a (temporary?) setlist, and display one song from it.
Tap bottom right and press/hold the metronome symbol
Tap the Cog (top left) , select your metronome settings and "Apply to all pages in setlist"
This won't set a default but will apply to all songs in list

I believe that will only apply the auto-start, count-in, measures, and auto-turn pages to all songs in the setlist. I don't think it will copy the other metronome settings to the other songs in the setlist. That is something that is not currently supported, although I know other users have asked for this. It's on my list of things to do, but for now, you'll need to adjust the metronome per song. Alternatively, if you are comfortable with running database queries, you could update the database itself to copy the metronome settings from one to song a list of other songs.
