Parenthetical number next to Songs
#1
If the answer to this is in the manual I apologize.  I have racked my brain trying to figure out the meaning of the numbers in parentheses following the SONGS "tab" at the top of the screen.  There are 2 numbers separated by a /.  It seems to imply that I have some sort of filter selected but I do not.  I have cleared every possible filter but the 2 different numbers remain and in my case it is quite a large difference.  Please point me in the right direction to find the answer. Thanks is advance.

Jim

I just have a single number on my Songs tab (960) - this is the number of songs in my library.

You might have different numbers because some of your songs are not accessible (just guessing).

Suggest you use Settings| Other Settings| Find Missing Files (and/or Fix Broken Paths) to see if either show up any issues.

I've checked for missing files and there are none.  It doesn't "check" for broken paths, you have to know the path is broken and then it lets you fix it. At least that is my understanding

Checked again and I guess there is an automatic broken path finder.  I'll try it.  I'm assuming it is device specific since my tablet has not broken paths but I'll run it on my desktop to see if there are any there

NOPE no broken paths either.  So I have no broken paths, no missing files, no filters are active and yet I have 2 numbers in parenthesis nest to songs (18140/19218). This is different than the attachment above because I added a few more

The x with a circle around it, at the right of the filters section of the library screen clears all filters. Have you tried that ?

18140/19218 means 18140 of 19218, 18140 displayed songs of 19218 in total.
I have only seen this in case a filter is active. Missing files are not displayed like this (checked, not guessed).
In my example, see screenshot, a filter selects 42 songs  that are in the specified collection. Clicking the funnel icon (1) hides the filter bar (2) but the filter stays in the filter bar. The 'x' button (3) deletes the filter.

As far as I know there is no "automatic broken path finder".

Checking for broken file paths:
Other Settings - Find Missing Files
opens a window that shows clearly path and filenames of missing files

the (x) to the right of each missing file removes that file from the library
clicking the path of a missing file directly opens a file window to replace this missing file with another one, just like the "swap file" menu item

Thanks for your response but there are no filters, no broken paths nor any missing files.  So I decided I would "sync" the DB to GDrive and as I watched it there were many blank songs that it was supposedly uploading.  I am going to try to now sync this back to my PC and have GDrive override the PC so hopefully that will remove these blank songs.  There is no way to search the song list for NULL.  I've tried spaces and various other things to no avail.  Syncing is my last hope.  Of course I'll make a backup first.

ADDITIONAL INFO - when I made the backup it backed up the total number of files (larger numbers) so I do not think my idea of syncing is going to work but I'll try

If you have tapped the X to clear the filters at the far right side and nothing happens, that means you have songs in your database with a blank title. This is very unusual, and I'm not sure how you ended up in that state (unless you imported a CSV with blank titles for some of the songs or something of that sort). MobileSheets normally would not allow songs to be created with a blank title. Those song titles will have to be removed from the database manually. I can walk you through sending me the database file if you want to go down that path.

Sciurius' MSPro-Tools https://github.com/sciurius/MSPro-Tools has great tools to investigate and manipulate a MobileSheets database.
get_meta.pl exports the metadata from a MobileSheets backup into a JSOn file that you can easily read and manipulate with any text editor.
upd_meta.pl re-imports the JSON file into the backup

To follow up on this, I helped fix the database for JimR, and it was due to over a thousand songs with blank titles. I'm modifying the code for 3.9.0 to force blank titles to be <Blank> so users can see them and delete them.

Contacted Tech Support and they fixed it immediately.  Hats off to the people at Zubersoft!
