I have a file called Eagles song book which contains a number of Eagles songs. I have created bookmarks in the song book for the start of each song in the song book. These bookmarks do not show up in the bookmarks tab on the library tab bar. How do i get them to show there. At the moment i have to got to the eagles song book and open the bookmarks tab there to get to a song.

The bookmarks tab only applies to bookmarks created in MobileSheets itself. The bookmarks window (which McAroni referred to) has a "Show pdf bookmarks" checkbox that you can check to see the PDFs in the bookmark itself. I should add that if you enable Settings->Import Settings->Convert PDF Bookmarks, then you import the PDF with bookmarks, those bookmarks will show up on the bookmarks tab.

The basic Adobe Reader does not allow the creation of bookmarks. But you can create your own bookmarks in mobilesheets. Simply press the plus sign on the bookmark tab. Or you can use a program like jpdfbookmarks

jPDFBookmarks as recommended is fine for adding PDF bookmarks to the PDF. They can be used within MobileSheets.
Have you considered preparing a CSV file to create separate songs during import?
In case you add PDF bookmarks first and then apply PDF2CSV you can get both with not much additional effort.
