I find the song title captioning feature to be very useful. I am asking if an entry within a field (eg. the Artist field) can be removed (deleted) from the list or its text edited? This would allow fixing spelling mistakes or regrouping data by consolidating some entries under a new designation (eg. "Beatles" to include +Harrison+Lennon+McCartney) . I know I could add a new entry with the correct spelling and batch edit, but the old/misspelled and redundant entries would still remain on the list.
Thanks.

Go to the Artists tab, long press the artist you want to delete and tap "Delete" at the top of the screen. That is the easiest way to do it. The same applies to other fields. You can enable other tabs under Settings->Library Settings->Tab Selection and Order.

Many thanks! Very useful.
(Maybe I missed it but I didn't find that capability in the manual Ver 1.1.7. I'll look again)

It would certainly be nice to be able to combine Beatles with The Beatles and ELO with E.L.O. My library is a mess.

Use the filters to display all songs that contain Beatles in their meta data
Long Press one of the songs until the checkboxes show
Use the floating box dialog to select all the displayed songs
Edit
Specify the required text in the required field e.g. "The Beatles" and OK
Then remove the unwanted "Beatles" entry as desctibed by Mike
Personally, I would prefer to call it "Beatles" rather than "The Beatles".
