@Graeme: I understand you as a solo musician don't need to control others but most of the music is written the way that you perform with somebody else.

I'm not sure where you got the idea that I'm a solo player?  I have never worked solo, always with bands

My experience is players read ahead in different ways, some will do a page turn right at the the end of the current page, others a couple of bars before then - you must have seen this for yourself.  This is where the idea of of a 'master' tablet falls down.  I can see the minor advantage of being able to call up a particular chart for everyone but, after that, I believe it has to be up to the individuals to turn their own pages in the way that suits them best.
