Yes, in my setup it is quite common to have multiple songs with identical names. Usually they belong to different collections. For example, same song with a different arrangement, or different key.
(This is one of the reasons I'd like to have the 'separate database' feature.)
(I can also feel another feature request coming: to sync collections and setlists. But first things first.)
(As usual you can have an msb of my setup if that would be helpful.)
