There are multiple workarounds for deleting entries in the list (just not through the filter dialogs):
1) Go to Settings->Library Settings->Tab Order, enable the tabs you want to manage, and then you can delete or rename any entry you want on those tabs.
2) In the song editor, you can tap the trash can icon to delete all entries listed for a particular group. You can also do this from the import dialogs.
The only thing you can do is manage these things from the filter selections or edit/rename things on the import dialogs. I can consider adding ways to make this easier in the future, but the intent of the filter dialogs is not for management of existing entries. I can see that this is faster/easier though in many cases, and many people aren't aware of the ability to add additional tabs (which is another thing I'm going to address).
