I've been running MSP on a Surface Pro X and have also been experiencing a lot of crashes. It's the higher end 16 GB model, too. But, I mean, the stability and compatibility issues with the SPX are legion, so it's not surprising. Sigh--if only it weren't such a perfect display, pen and keyboard.
