Hello Brian,

When something like that occurs, there are two main things to look for:

1) See if stylus mode is enabled. If stylus mode is enabled and you are tapping to insert a text annotation, nothing will happen. To disable stylus mode, tap the three dots at the top right corner of the annotations editor, tap "Settings" and then uncheck "Stylus Mode". Then you should be able to create the text annotations as you would expect

2) If the problem is that the virtual keyboard is not being displayed, that can be caused by having a bluetooth pedal connected, which acts as a hardware keyboard. Turning off the stylus mode was the answer.  Now I can draw a box and the keyboard opens automatically.
