For what you are trying to do, I don't think that method of filtering is going to get you what you want. Instead, go to Settings->Library Settings, enable "Show Number of Songs/Pieces", go back to the Composer tab, long press/right click to select a composer with 0 songs in it, and then tap each composer you want to delete that has 0 songs. Then tap the "Delete" action at the top of the screen.
