Have you experimented with the half page display mode yet? Once I make the half page turn position adjustable, that could be used to achieve what you have described. Additionally, if you use the vertical scrolling display mode, you could scroll small amounts at a time (like 20% of the page with instantaneous scrolling to avoid animations on e-ink). I imagine that would achieve the same goal.
