Agreed.

I think that, sometimes, MS users tend to lose sight of what this program is for.

It's a replacement for a ton of paper, often covered with illegible notes. It's not an all singing, all dancing, scoring/reading application. There are plenty of those out there already but, as pointed out, they can't do what MS does.

If someone has a 'problem' to solve, such as the one being discussed in this thread, the best approach is to ask yourself "How would I solve this if it was on paper?"
