I was wondering if the aforementioned situation is related to the one I am trying to understand.

I use Text Files.

Using highlighted chords - if I put other text on the Chord line it kills the chord colour

 e.g.

Em (Hold)>>Fading>>>>>>
Em G D A  Em G D A

C      G        Dsus2              Asus2
  Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me
C      G    E/D              **Distortion Off )
  Till then I walk alone        (Stop Pause)

Maybe I have missed a point somewhere?
