For 100% Linux users, did you consider rsync?
I maintain all my song sources on Linux. On the tablet, I have SSH Helper. To update a particular collection 'Songs':
If there are new songs I need to import them into MSPro once. Updates for existing songs will be picked up automatically.
The hardest part is to find a folder on the tablet that both rsync and MSPro can access .
