You cannot use an older version of the companion app, as the database is incompatible. I understand that this may be frustrating for you, but in order to support multiple platforms for the companion app, I needed to move to a new framework. I just don't have the bandwidth to try to investigate potential issues with Windows 7 (a 15 year old OS version). As mentioned, there are serious security risks with Windows 7 as no vulnerabilities are patched. Around 3% of Windows users (or less) are still on Windows 7, and that number will continue to shrink by the day.

I suspect this computer will not be able to handle Windows 10 and I definitely do not want to install a new operating system.  It has been able to do everything I wanted (running the Companion was a portion of that).

I guess I'll look into using a Windows 10 laptop I have around instead to run the Companion.

Ok, thanks.

Jeff

I've two old PCs (2008 & 2011) with Win10 working very well. Just have 8GB RAM or more.
What I did was having two SSDs - one with Win7 and the other one with Win10. Just boot to one you like or you need.
I am not sure if part of the problem is Avast scanning it on an old computer.  But, I think if I open the Companion first (and make sure it loads/updates ok), and then connect the tablet, it seems to work okay.  (I guess one day I may have do something regarding this old computer.)
