Triggering link points is completely separate from that though, and the end link point is going to blink at you so you know where to start from. So I don't see how that could be an issue. Scrolling is also completely separate from triggering a link point, so your two requests don't see to be related unless I'm missing something. If you are just saying you want a slower page turn animation after triggering a link point, that doesn't really make sense if you are jumping like 3 pages forward or backward. In that case, the page transition needs to be instantaneous.

My suggestion is to work around this, but differently. I used "Scrolling" since you can set an advance speed such that you don't lose your place (I use partial, single sheet in landscape,,vertical scrolling) and bump the page forward at a speed that my eyes can follow. Link points don't currently work in scroll mode (thus my suggestion),mwut they can go fast, since the link endpoint is highlighted when the link is activating, taking the eye where it needs to go. (My solution also let's me get a bigger image on a less expensive tablet, but at the end of the day, we truly are trying to solve the same problem - losing our place if the page changes/moves too fast.
Ultimately, it would seem that as options get more plentiful, the screen to select advance options might be easier if there were three parameters set together, and not the "canned choices" that miss a lot of options.
Specifically, if you selected:
Advance style: Full page, percent of page, scroll
Advance speed: 0 for instant up to ???, and apply to to *every* sty;e.
Direction: Forward, backward
Linking: Activate, Activate next (direction chosen by the direction parameter).
Or something like that, it would be useable for all pedal and touch actions, and would offer any combination of options, addressing most of the advance issues I have read, and I would think makimg the UI easier to use as well.
