Getting familiar with the new "Fixed Page Size" feature for ChordPro files.
I manage files myself and store them in a folder structure within the MobileSheets Storage Location. Files and folders are identical on all my devices so I copy just the database files between the devices.
This works fine for PDFs. ChordPro files look different due to the different screen size, aspect ratio and display resolution. I hope that "Fixed Page Size" improves that, so I start investigating it.
I test with:
HP x2 210 G2 Detachable "D2", my current main device
800 x 1280 / 16:10 / 10", "Set to Screen" in portrait format sets 800 x 1208
Boox Tab Ultra C "bx", my future main device
1860 x 2480 4:3 10,3", "Set to Screen" in portrait format sets 1860 x 2354
Huawei MediaPad T5 "T2", my backup device
1200 x 1920 16:10 10,1", "Set to Screen" in portrait format sets 1200 x 1852
I start on the HP Detachable
DieGedankenSindFrei_SHe.pro with font size 35 fits nicely on the screen
I copy the song (so that I can compare separate versions with different settings later on) and set "Fixed Page Size" to 1860 x 2354. This is the size of the Boox Tab, the device with the biggest screen size and the one where I mainly want to copy my database.
There's an unused black area at the bottom (due to the different aspect ratio), Font Size stays 35, the text looks much smaller (as expected), annotations stay at the same position as before so they don't match the text (a known issue that Mark is already working on)
"Auto-Size Font" calculates and sets font size 59 which is not as expected, it could be much bigger to fit the width of the page (issue 1)
I increase the fonts manually to font size 84 so that the complete page width is used again. The positions of the highlight annotations are much better now, but still not completely correct. It seems that the empty lines are not enlarged to size 84 and the line space is less than it was in the original font size 35 song with "Fixed Page Size" OFF (issue 2 ?)
