Hello Dave,
I didn't change a single line of code related to MIDI in any of the recent iOS updates, so I really don't think the problems you are seeing are due to the update. However, please go to Settings->MIDI Settings and verify none of the settings have changed from what you are expecting. Is the correct MIDI receive channel being used? If you go to Settings->MIDI Settings->Configure MIDI Connections, does your device show up as being connected? If you bring up the MIDI listen dialog in the song editor, are any MIDI messages being received at all?
In the worst case, you can backup your library under Settings->Backup andp Restore->Backup Library, uninstall the app, reinstall it, restore your backup and see if this fixes the issue. This would just rule out some kind of issue with the installation.
Mike
