I have always used android phones and probably always will, but I went with an iPad specifically to use with mobilesheets 4:3 ratio. I had decided that the 4:3 was non-negotiable for me. And I wanted the large size close to the side of paper.
I bought the new iPad Air 13" that came out in May and have been very happy with it. The iPad Air 13" is the first large-size device Apple has released that's not in their Pro line-up and is quite a bit cheaper than the iPad Pro of the same size. It took awhile to learn the different way Apple does everything, but google was helpful!
There are some features only available in android (such as being able to natively play midi files from within MS), So it may not be an option for you.
If you stick with the longer skinnier androids, I read on a post that some people have found a way to utilize the extra space at the bottom for notes or extra annotations. Can't find it now.
Wow, wonderful to know that I can buy a new 13 inch ipad for $699. I'd been looking at the Pro models, and almost bought a used one, but felt nervous about that. This is a terrific option!
