MobileSheets will certainly not send MIDI commands when just changing pages. If you are seeing that when page changes are occurring, it's very likely that a song change is occurring in some manner, or the song is being forced to be reloaded. I would need to see the new leader settings to be able to comment more on this. I'm assuming the song is just a multi-page PDF and you are not loading a setlist.
