It still sounds like I'm close to the intended use case of SongID and .mss file, or how else was your original plan to populate the SongID?
Anyway, I feel like it would be better to wait for another step of your implementation and investigate some more before I motivate my colleagues to invest time in populating SongIDs in their databases.
