I switched from ForScore. I'm glad I did!
#8
Just saw this thread, here's my experience. In late 2013 I tried OnSong and forScore on my 9.7" iPad. I chose to go with forScore because it had a record function that I used when my uke group rehearsed, then uploaded each song to my website so the members could practice whenever they wanted.

It didn't take me long to realize the 9.7" iPad screen was too small for me, but at that time the iPad Pro was over $1000, more than I was willing to spend. The only large tablets were 13" Androids for about $250, so I looked for a music sheet app and found that MobileSheets Pro was highly recommended, I bought and installed it. I immediately realized how much better it was than forScore and OnSong, but I found the Android OS to be awkward compared to an iPad iOS. I used the Android device, along with an awkward stylus, for a few months until the tablet died. I bought another, which also died in about a year.

Then I saw that MobileSheets Pro was available for Windows and bought a 13.5" tablet for $400. But the Windows tablet OS is even more awkward than Android, and would update the OS anytime it wanted, even in the middle of a rehearsal, and there was no way I could find to control that. I kept in touch with Mike Zuber, who is the best developer with his support than any other app I use (even make contributions to support Zubersoft).

Then I was in an Apple Store and went to look at the iPad Pro 12.9" with the Apple pencil. As it happened, it had a copy of forScore, so I did a little testing. I have to say, it was very apparent that iPad and Pencil ran circles around the Android and Windows tablets with stylus. I got online and bought a refurbished iPad Pro and Apple Pencil direct from Apple (which I've done in the past for computers from them), saving a couple hundred dollars.

I went on with forScore a few years, until Feb. 2024 when I discovered MobileSheets for iOS. I immediately bought it . It took a bit of getting used to, discovering all the controls it has. I have now convinced the leader of my group and two other members to go to an iPad Pro 12.9" and MobileSheets, working on other members as well.
