It actually doesn't - there is a problem right now that if you remove a file in the song editor, that it can be effectively orphaned, as there isn't an option to delete the file if it appears to be unused. It was designed this way to prevent issues where files could be deleted if they were just temporarily being removed. So I have some work to do there to help prevent orphaned files, but also to provide a new utility to clean up unused files.
