You can try going to Settings->Display Settings->Render Preference and switch from "Quality" to "Speed" or vice versa, which changes which PDF library is used. This will also change how hyperlinks in PDFs will be detected and triggered. Regardless, I have no idea why you would be seeing any delay at all. Can you share one of the PDFs with mike@zubersoft.com?
