Don't forget that all of the reading/notation apps have their editing bar across the bottom or top, covering over the top/bottom of the page of music when in annotation mode! I never would have gotten an iPad if I had known this. For me, this drastically interferes with writing and rehearsing, as the editing bar covers up part of the music (unless the music has big margins). So in 4:3 iPad, to write a quick mark on the bottom/top of a page, I have to enter annotation mode, then drag the page away from the editing bar, then write, and then exit annotation mode to continue rehearsing.

The Surface Pro is on my wish list mainly for using Mobile sheets:

Starting with the Surface Pro 8, the screen size is 13" with Windows 11. Cost is rather high, even on refurbished devices

Surface Pro 7 and below has a 12.3" display with Windows 10. Cost is much lower but may not be worth it.

It would be interesting to hear from anyone who uses one or the other for Mobile Sheets and if size matters.

Size matters to me. LOL I'm getting old (aren't we all) and my eyesight isn't what it was. I have used Mobilesheets on both the SP4 and SP7. I was having a little trouble reading the screen on the SP7, and the only Surface with a larger screen that could be folded like a tablet was the Surface Laptop Studio. It has a 14.4" screen. But it's even more expensive than the Surface Pros, and it's really heavy. I used it for several years, though. I eventually talked myself into a Surface Pro 9, which as you point out, has a 13" screen. The increase from the 12.3" screen made a difference to me. Not as good as the Surface Laptop Studio's 14.4" screen, but better than 12.3". I have also used it on a SP11 with the OLED screen.  Recently, though, I bought a Samsung Galaxy S10 Ultra, mainly because our church's software is Android or iOS, and Windows removed the feature to run Android. It has a 14.6" screen that is 16:10. If you put an image of a 8.5 X 11 piece of paper on it, it will have space at the top and bottom. However, there's two things about that. First, I always crop music on the sides. This makes the page more like 7.5 X 11 or something, so that makes it fit better. Also, You can use that extra bit of space. I put the Mobilesheets task bar at the top and the Android taskbar at the bottom.
