My only concern with a double tap is that it actually slows down the single tap speed a little bit, because every time a tap is detected, a delay is required to make sure the user isn't going to tap again. I'd prefer doing a two finger tap to clear the zoom. My plan is to make the two finger tap configurable with the default action being to reset the zoom.
