Things seemed to work fine from a browser so it might be related to the API the app is using. Anyway, for now things seem to be usable.
I'll get back to this later in case the sloooooooooowness seems to continue but it's been for a few weeks now whenever I tried (that was the reason to update -- although I probably should have updated ages ago ). OTOH. apparently not many others seem to have similar problems.
