(Very) small screen device
#1
I do have a somewhat atypical question.

I use MobileSheets in two ways:
  • On my tablet, for scores and lead sheets when playing the piano, mostly.
  • On my smartphone, mounted on top of my accordion with a phone holder, for chords and charts.
For sheet music, a larger screen is handy, and I often see people asking and informing each other about larger tablets they use.

But for my second purpose (phone mounted on my accordion), I would like to find a smaller solution. I currently use an old Samsung phone (4,5 inch, 130x65 mm), but as I mainly use this as a reminder/cheat sheet for setlists, chord progressions, basic information..., I could even do with something more discreet.

I’ve seen Martyn Jacques from the Tiger Lillies use some kind of self-made holder for his phone during performances (see attached picture) I would like to achieve something similar, albeit smaller: a small screen, no to obvious, hidden in some sort of case, where I can just have a look at some basic song information in dark mode.

Does anyone know about a small (android) device I could use for this purpose? I was thinking about small old smartphones, but not sure how support would be for these devices in the long run. I even thought about smartwatches, but I don’t think there is a way of using MSP or a similar app on these devices. I’ve seen some 3 inch ‘mini smartphones’ (something like the Jelly 2), but I have no idea how usable these devices are, and they are often quite chunky.

Any ideas?

Thanks!
Asley
