Embedded Tuner
#1
An option that would complete the package for me would be an embedded Tuner (similar to Cleartune). It would then be for me an application I would never have to leave on the performance stage and complement the Metronome function.

I wouldn't consider this as an urgent request, just a nice one sometime as the program has already exceeded my requirements as an amateur musician.

I like this idea. I have to be honest about this - I'm not sure I can afford to give away new features like this, as I'm currently spending quite a lot of time for little profit. I'm okay with it for now, because I promised a lot of functionality that I haven't delivered on yet. Once I finish annotations and work off some of the older feature requests, I'm going to need to look for new avenues to keep myself funded. I really want to keep supporting this app for a long time, but if I stop getting new users, I have no source of income. I may have to explore having purchasable add-ons. I would be interested to hear if my users would be willing to pay something like $.50 or a $1.00 for things like a tuner, virtual keyboard (if possible), etc. I'll be posting more in the future to get feedback on this.

I personally think that you are too cheap for what you have provided so far. I would have no hesitation in paying more for a MobileSheetsPlus version or as you suggested Plug-Ins.

Keep up the good work.

I agree with that. I'm working with Mobile Sheet and it is a great tool. MS makes me gaining time, not wasting paper (protect the environment), my brain is more free for music, my accordion bag loss weight... and many other things .. all that for a less than 5 € !! 2 or 3 beers in a bar ? If I have to renounce to drink 2 or 3 beers .. I'll not die. .. If I make good music, I'll drink for free anyway.. and MS helps me making good music .. so ..

Thanks for the feedback, both of you. Having support from my users is going to make it easy for me to keep working on MobileSheets for a long time to come.

I like the idea of plug ins.. Your program is a bargain as is. I'll gladly purchase plugins that expand the functionality. In my case providing an audio player with enhanced features is a given . Even if you cross license and integrate apps to run within MS.

This would provide financial benefits to Zubersoft while meeting the needs of users.

As mentioned earlier you should fast track annotations and include them in a professional version.. I imagine most of us would rather pay and have it sooner than wait and get it free.

I suggest that you do a poll to find out if users would prefer to pay $5 to get an annotation plug in or pro t version or wait?

I think you are charging way too little for MobileSheets. Why not add a couple of dollars to the price and see how it goes. That would bring in a little more revenue. Paying for plug ins is within reason also.

Using tablets for tablature is new and is slow to catch on but the more we use it and the more we tell others about it the quicker it will be accepted. I'm using my tablet with MobileSheets exclusively now and can't wait to show it to my club next week when we have our jam.

I've said it before, it's worth more than you are charging.

Being Musicians using Android we are really in the minority here (most Musicians like Apple products from my experience). We need to support Mike in the development of this product. I sent him a donation via PayPal to help him along. If you really feel that it's worth more than the asking price, I'd encourage you to do the same and send him some extra $$$.

Mike, I'm afraid you are going to burn out. Even though people are clamoring for Annotation I'd slow down a little. Work out any remaining bugs with the current release, the take the time you need to do a quality release with next next big version. Raise the price or sell it as a "Pro Version".

You might also consider finding a couple of customers that you trust and ask them to help test the new version before release. Take your time between releases, and get things wrung out fully. It will make your life a lot easier.

It's definitely worth more than you are charging, all I need is to be able to scribble on my music and the app is complete in my eyes. Extras such as audio, tuner, keyboard etc are just that..."extras" so those are perfect plugin examples.

I was the first to introduce my tablet into a band about 2-3 months ago, and now there are already 7 people who have them (although I could only talk 1 of them into Android). I think you'll find that more and more money should start coming in quite quickly.

Following on from what Curt said, I'd always be happy to do a little testing for you if required!

OK, here's another who would pay more. Release a "pro" version for more money, and/or release add-on/plugins for different functionality.

I want this software to continue to be available and to advance. Make sure you get the returns you deserve for the effort you put in !!!

Great Idea! I How about both? Add your annotation feature for existing customers as a plug in for a few dollars extra.. My sense is this forum will support it. I Also introduce a pro version that includes annotation at higher price. Plug ins such as audio, tuner, and or even basic drum machine could then be purchased ala carte.

I will definitely support the above.

I disagree about most musicians being Apple users. I know of one musician using a Ipad. As a result of my tablet running MS I know of 3 -4 users running MS on Android.. I have been asked to do seminars on Android and music which I am considering. Every musician that has taken a close look at my setup plans to purchase MS. One friend that already owns and Ipad plans on purchase.

With lower cost tablets coming this summer the Android market share will likely really expand. I enjoy have non pro friend that would potentially use as a tool to practice for (pardon the foul language) Karaoke.

I am satisfied with current functionality but hope you consider some of the above options to support your fine product financially.

Thanks for the feedback everyone - it really helps having the support. I think I'm still going to push for getting annotations in as soon as I can, and once they are in, I'm raising the price of the app. I've promised too many existing users that capability, and I don't think it's fair at this point to suddenly charge them to have access to it. After annotations are released though, I'll take a long hard look at what is worth charging for as an add-on, and what sort of features i might be able to put into a pro version. I may even consider simplifying the product a great deal by removing a lot of the advanced features, and market a "lite" version for people that don't need the bells and whistles.

You don't have to worry about me burning out though. I would never consider abandoning my users, much less a product I've worked so hard on and has so much potential. I'm also lucky in that I truly enjoy programming, and just happen to make a living off it Smile

I'm an intermediate violin player. Use the program for my use only. Would be happy to pay for plugins I wanted. Agree, you are selling too cheap. Will be purchasing again for a new computer as my Acer has crashed.

I have been hesitant to say it (who wants to urge distributors to charge more), but for the quality for this program, it is worth more (consider how much we are playing for the tablet, the stand, our instruments, etc.). (But don't get too crazy Wink)

So, I definitely want this program to survive and thrive.

I guess the bottom line is whether, overall, a bump up in price will end up improving your bottomline (taking into account any lost sales).

I also agree this program is really cheap. I use it every weekend at gigs and it saves me lot of time and also lot of space because I don't have to carry all of my sheets.

What about some type of Pro version based on monthly subscription like 1 or 2 USD? It isn't that much and it will provide you with stable income.

Tablet: Surface Pro 4,
Other: Strich BT-FP2, USB-MIDI connection to Kurzweil Forte 7
