Hello,
I have have scanned copy of "The Real Vocal Book", and would like to have the songs imported to MSP.
I found one csv file on GitHub, which starts:
Quote:A Child is Born,13,
A Fine Romance,15,
A Foggy Day,17,
A Night in Tunisia,19,
Afro Blue,21,
Ain't Misbehavin,25,
Alice in Wonderland,27,
When I use it, only the first page of each tune is used. (Which is a expected behavior) As a lazy man, I would like to think there is a ready csv-file somewhere, with the correct pages.
I had to remove the image in your post because there is some kind of problem with embedding images in forum posts (it just shows up as an encoded string). If you can add the image as an attachment with your post, that would be best. Sorry for the inconvenience.
title,pages,
A Child is Born,13-14,
A Fine Romance,15-16,
...
My favorite to edit CSV files is LibreOffice Calc. I attached an example with formulas that might help.
Please share your results as soon as you have completed the CSV file

Yes, I know, I was hoping someone already had done that

No problem, it was just the first page of the book.

Hey Johu, your csv file page numbers are off by one. A child is born should start with p13, not p12. am a noob at using csv files, and when i imported my vocal book pdf with your CSV file it was difficult to delete and cleanup my MS library. Simply removing the "Real Vocal Book" album from my library didn't remove all the songs created by the csv and the source PDF file.
Does anyone have the correct csv starting with page 13? Or should I somehow remove page 1 from my source pdf file?
CSV files have to match the PDF. Scans might be different. Alas we cannot share the matching PDF together with a CSV due to copyright rules.
To remove the wrongly imported songs filter by filename:
on the "Songs" tab open the dropdown next to "Search:" and select "File Paths"
type a relevant part of the filename into the search field until all songs from your "Real Vocal Book" file (and only those) are shown
rightclick one of them, click "Select All" (the empty checkbox in the small multi-selection box that shows up bottom right)
click "Delete Song"
check "Delete Song Pdf/Image/Text Files" to remove not only the songs from your library but also the file
To adapt the downloaded CSV file to your PDF:
open the CSV in LibreOffice Calc (my favourite, there are other programs out there you could use)
use a formula to apply +1 or -1 to the page numbers
use CSV import again
