I observed that as I reduce the speed of the audio player to below 49%, the pitch gradually decreases even more. Could you please verify this? Thank you.

I haven't checked this in a while, but yes, I do believe that is an issue. If you tap the settings icon and uncheck "Use advanced audio player", the standard Google audio engine will be used, and you can try pitch shifting with that. I am exploring other audio libraries to find one that works better than the current one.
