Haven't experienced this before, but just tried backing up to the PC via the Companion program.
The latter reports it as successful, but looking at the app display it shows numerous "skipping file...." followed by the name of the file.

Note that I'm only saving the database, not the PDFs or audio files.

If the backup does not contain the PDFs or audio files, the "skipping file" message is indicating that the database contains information about a file that is not in the backup (which makes sense in this case).

Ah, I see, I thought it was referring to the database links to the PDF itself, thanks for explaining, although I, rather embarrasingly, think I asked this same question here last year! So feel free to delete this
