Library sync VERY slow

1) Library backup files from both of your devices (which would be 70+ GB you'd have to share based on your description)
2) Having you run a diagnostic build where we can have MobileSheets output all of the information during the sync (I want to output more information in general, but for now, I can just focus on outputting stuff in English and we can see where all of the processing is occurring). In order to test this, you need to be using the FastSpring version of MobileSheets (or we'd have to transfer you over).

Let me know which path you'd like to take. I'd love to improve this for you, but with my tests, I haven't experienced what you are seeing. Also, when it comes to MobileSheets prompting you, that only occurs if you have multiple songs with identical files and titles, and you have enabled "Create Subdirectory per Song". It would be impossible for conflicts to occur with that setting off (as long as the song titles are all unique), which is why it's off by default now. Do you have song titles with duplicate titles in your library?

Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike,
I don't mind either way, but I fear that full backups may be a bit heavy. Installing a diagnostic build is no problem at least on two of my machines where I see the problem.

Regarding the song titles. I'm having my song database in the background with > 100k files and it is VERY likely that two files have the identical filename and titles (being in different folders as from different artists/albums). In populating the Mobilesheets library I matched the scores with the songs from my song database. I realized that many songs were present in 5 and more variants and I finally selected the first 5 hits to link to the mobile sheets database. I did not add any songs manually on my main PC. The other PC's get just exports of the matched songs (not the full collection).
A side note: I have the setting "Create Subdirectory per Song" disabled.

If you let me know how to install a diagnostic build then I would be pleased to do so.

Thomas,

I just wanted to follow up to say that creating a diagnostic build is going to take me some time, as I will have to add lots of logging statements all over the sync code. I wanted to add optional logging to that feature anyways, so I make take time to add this as a new feature that anyone can activate so I can investigate synchronization issues easier. That does mean it's going to take a lot longer to get to though, as I'm also trying to deal with high priority bug fixes and delivering promised features.

Hi Mike
Thank you for the explanation. Just send me a note when you are ready. I won't stop doing music and if the matter gets fixed one day it would be beneficial.
