The problem I'm having, is that I find I need to use my tablet in landscape mode and half-page display (too old for portrait mode!). It would be great if MobileSheets didn't chop through staffs/ledger lines etc in half-page/landscape mode. Ideally it should 'intelligently' split through a white area or similar.

I think it's hard to implement such a kind of "intelligent" logic.
I would rather suggest to let the user choose a certain overlap for page turns (portrait full pages as well as landscape half page turns), so that a certain percentage of the page is visible before *and* after the page turn. You might have to flip pages more often, but that would solve some issues at the same time.
