Not sure if this is a Mobile Sheets Android problem or a Mobile Sheets Companion problem.
But when trying to use the Batch import feature the connection gets lost after importing about 440 song PDFs - this is has always been a bit of a problem for me but in the past reconnecting a couple of times would let me import the full 900 ish.
Currently I can seem to get past this limit. I've tried resetting my WIFI and I'm right next to the WIFI point.
Help really appreciated. Great piece of software otherwise - worth every £

I've batch imported around 6000 files without an issue, so the number of files generally shouldn't matter. Does the error seem to occur at the same file every time? If so, can you try breaking up the import into a few sections instead of all 900 at once to see if the problem is occurring with a specific file?

I just did another batch import of around 3700 files without issue. So something is interrupting the connection between the companion app and your tablet. It could be software-based (firewall, anti-virus, etc), it would be router-based, or could it even be device-specific, depending on the hardware, network drivers, etc. I don't know what's causing the interruption, but the companion app doesn't currently have reconnection code in place to try to recover after a socket failure like that. That's something I'll have to add at some point. If this is problematic for you, you can also consider importing through the cloud (Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive), as you can still batch import through the cloud.

thanks for that
I'll try out the cloud option
FYI it's the same issue for my old and new laptop and tablet and phone

Sounds like the router is the one dropping packets then. Is it a mesh router? What is the exact model of the router?

Its a Techniocolor DGA4123NLK
I suppose that could be the problem but I've tried restarting it
and tried different tablets and phones with a reinstallation of Mobilesheets companion
It also could be that with about 900 songs in pdf format, I've reached the limit of what the companion or android mobilesheets can handle.
It's a great shame as it's such a good app

Try using your phone as a wifi hotspot, connect both devices to that and batch import. If it goes through without a problem, then you know that the router is the problem.
I mentioned earlier - I batch imported 3700 PDFs without an issue. I've batch imported well over 5000 files before without a problem, so I'm not sure what you mean by reaching a limit of what it can handle with 900 files. I'm using TCP which should be fault tolerant, so something must be interrupting the connection completely for those failures to happen unless the problem is happening for you with the same PDF every time. If that is happening, then it could point to an entirely different problem.

What has now helped has been reinstalling Companion, splitting the files across two folders in Windows AND initially clearing the database on the destination devices.
All of which I've tried before but somehow, in combination, seems to have worked. (fingers crossed)
