Urgent Version 3.9.8 (2) Update error
#1
I got through with practice earlier in the week, and received an update notification from the apple store for MobileSheets which I took. The update installed (3.9.8 (2)). But since the update Mobilesheets no longer recognizes the buttons setup from my Sl Mixface which were working fine prior to the update.  No other software updates or Mac OS updates have been applied, only this update.

I am in a BIND because I have gigs coming up in less than 24 hours and it is now broken.

It is recognizing data from the mixface, but just not the buttons I have programmed commands which correspond to (controller number - value):

CC 44 - 127
CC 44 - 0
--------------
CC 46 - 127
CC 46 - 0
-------------
CC49 - 127
CC 49 - 0
---------------
CC50 - 127
CC50 -0

I have tried resetting Midi in Mobilesheets, but to no avail. I have stopped and restarted the app and Mac but no difference.  I know that the Mixface is still transmitting because other aps I have that also respond to them are still working.  This is tied to this latest update as best I can tell.  Is there a way to revert?

Hello Dave,

I didn't change a single line of code related to MIDI in any of the recent iOS updates, so I really don't think the problems you are seeing are due to the update. However, please go to Settings->MIDI Settings and verify none of the settings have changed from what you are expecting. Is the correct MIDI receive channel being used? If you go to Settings->MIDI Settings->Configure MIDI Connections, does your device show up as being connected? If you bring up the MIDI listen dialog in the song editor, are any MIDI messages being received at all?

In the worst case, you can backup your library under Settings->Backup andp Restore->Backup Library, uninstall the app, reinstall it, restore your backup and see if this fixes the issue. This would just rule out some kind of issue with the installation.

So something weird did seems to happen as part of the process and I'm not entirely sure what.

I tracked down the issue to midi channel related issues. Prior to the update the receive channels were set to all. They were still set to all afterwards, but would not work. My MixFace only transmits on channel 16 but I have always left mobilesheets set to all /any receive channels. After this update "any" channels was the culprit.  I had to go back and specify only channel 16 and things seem to be back to normal.

This makes no sense to me, I haven't had any issues with prior updates.  I know you said you didn't change a line of code, but something sure was different and I can track it down to this update.

Hope this helps.

Also. this may or may not be related,

I noticed when I was editing my midi commands to make sure they were still correct, if I watch for midi and it sees a list of two commands which I select. Then I go back to edit it and remove both commands MobileSheets crashes consistently. Every time.  The minute I try to remove/delete the last midi event in a command list the program dies.
