KORG x50 not recognized
#1

Hello, I tried to connect a KORG X50 to Mobile Sheets. Wanted so send PatchSelect or ProgramChange commands to X50.

Installed current WIN 10 driver from Korg.
Type of MIDI-Keyboard is selected to "KORG". (Both X50 and MS)
Driver is installed  for KORG X50.
MIDI Channel 1 is selected at global settings. (Both X50 and MS)

Config MIDI Device: only "Microsoft GS wavetable synthesizer"  is listed for selection.

X50 obviously not recognized.

Connection  X50 (USB B)  - WIN Tablet -Surface 4 Pro (USB A)  (original x50 cable)

Is there anybody knowing how to fix this problem?

Thanks in advance

Hallo beisammen,

KORG X50  not recognized , so PatchSelect or ProgramChange commands can not be submitted to X50

Keyboard type is set to "KORG"
MIDI-Channel is set on "1"
Current WIN 10 driver is installed on Surface 4 Pro and X50 is seleced.
Connection by original USB-Cable X50 (USB B) to Surface (USB A)

MobilSheet-  Config Keybord Connection: Only Microsoft GS Wavetable Synthesizer can be selected

You may need to put a class-compliant MIDI device in between your X50 and the tablet in order to resolve this. This is an example of one of those: https://www.iconnectivity.com/mioxc

Another is the Roland UM-ONE. You can also use bluetooth with devices like the CME WIDI Master or the CME WIDI Jack.

Thanks to Mike. It works.
Do you know if it´s possible to change programms from KORG x50 Prog to Combi section by MIDI.

I can change Programms within the Sections (Banks and change Programms within Combi Banks, but I don´t find a command to change from Combi - Bank -Programm to Programm -Bank-T Timbre(Programm).
SO i first have to cange teh X50 Section (Prog or Combi), After that i have to choose the song and then the programs are changed.

Thanks in advance.

I'm glad to hear that! As far as your question, it's most likely going to be a system exclusive message if it's supported at all. You have to check the documentation for the keyboard to see what MIDI messages it supports (or you can contact KORG), as it's different between every keyboard manufacturer and/or model.
